The access point connects the wireless microphones to the system. It uses the AUDIO-LINK digital ring network, so the signal travels digitally end to end.
64 audio channels over a single CAT5e cable. That is what makes it feasible to cable a council chamber without digging channels: one network cable per run instead of a bundle of audio cables.
