Live streaming for mountain sport in Sierra Nevada
Ski, trail running and cycling races broadcast live from Sierra Nevada, with three wireless cameras and redundant links for places with no coverage.
We broadcast official competitions live from Sierra Nevada through the ski season. It is production work in cold, wind and altitude, where the equipment has to keep running with gloves on and the signal has to leave a mountain that has no reliable coverage of its own.
Equipment
- 3 × Panasonic AG-CX370 cameras with wireless links, so operators can move on the piste
- Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme ISO for multicamera vision mixing, recording every input separately for post-production
- Hollyland intercom to keep the operators talking to each other in real time
- Redundant transmission systems, which is the only way to guarantee an outgoing signal where there is no coverage
The productions are run in collaboration with the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), the Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation (RFEDI) and the Andalusian Winter Sports Federation (FADI), to the technical standards of the Milano Cortina 2026 cycle.
Why the mountain is different
The weather changes during the race, the light changes with it, and the positions you agreed the day before may be unreachable on the morning. Mobile cameras, multicamera mixing and redundant links are what let the broadcast hold together anyway.
Snow and high-mountain work needs a site visit beforehand. Connectivity, access and where the power comes from are decided on the mountain, not on a plan.
